Pre-development is the process of assessing feasibility which requires many professional engineering studies and reports, required permitting steps, application deposits and authorizations, as well as multiple fees to determine each of the following: 

SOLAR

  • Irradiance measurement for the specific geographic location of the land
  • Direct normal irradiation (DNI) directly facing the sun at all times. 
  • The diffuse horizontal irradiance (DHI) energy received on the solar panels
  • The global tilted irradiation (GTI) for best tilt angles to capture maximum capacity

FINANCIAL

  • Necessary application and fees to interconnect with the national power grid. 
  • Preliminary financial model for the project

ENERGY

  • Energy Yields which are based on estimates of energy produced from the solar farm based solar resource, temperature conditions of the site, layout and technical specifications of the plant components, gathered from engineering studies on the specific site.  

TECHNOLOGY

  • Information needed on the solar resource and conditions of the site regarding layout and technical specifications of the plant components. This is needed for plant design and will be required for interconnection and permitting.
  • Evaluate Storage Options to use for the project and its equipment & installation costs
  • How much storage will be necessary to balance the inherently intermittent solar resource due to weather, to provide a constant flow of energy to the grid. (Solar storage captures the energy and stores it to be used during slow energy yield times from the sun as well as high peak demands.)
  • Green Hydrogen generation produces power 24/7 as a booster to potential power produced and its equipment & installation costs 

LAND LOCATION

  • Land Control in place to the new LLC for interconnect and permitting
  • Land measurement to determine size of a ground based PV power plant (solar farm)
  • Site feasibility to determine topography for building the Solar Plant
  • Necessary applications and fees for land use permits, and other land permits per county requirements

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • What environmental studies are necessary for the location (each property and county is unique) 
  • Environmental permitting County State and Federal

CONNECTION

  •  Approvals for the total amount of power that can be connected.
